High Lane
Renovation of the ground floor of a semi-detached Victorian house in Chorlton, South Manchester.
The scheme aimed to create a bold kitchen design through the use of colour, anchored with simpler design elements that would give it longevity. Sustainability was also an important factor for the homeowners, and this was factored into the materials used including the Resilica recycled glass worktop.
The design included a number of Little Greene colours including Royal Navy and Air Force Blue for the kitchen cabinets and Slaked Lime Deep for the walls. The wallpaper is also a Little Greene pattern, Great Ormond Street in Tropical.
Lighting was also an important factor, adding colour and impact as well as zoning the areas. Over the peninsula we used Louis Poulsen Cirque pendants, over the dining table the Norm 69 lamp from Normann Copenhagen and the classic Flos Foglio wall lamps in the seating area.
The flooring through the open plan area is a classic herringbone design from Amtico whilst the hallway is Karndean in a Victorian tile pattern.
